Rains today lashed parts of Punjab and Haryana with the maximum temperatures hovering around 34 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.
Chandigarh, which received 2 mm of rains, recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, the Met department said here.
In Haryana, Hisar as well as Ambala recorded the maximum temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius. Hisar recorded a rainfall of 5 mm.

The maximum temperature in Narnaul was recorded at 33.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal, it said.
In Punjab, Amritsar, which was lashed by 6 mm of rain, recorded the maximum temperature of 34.7 degrees Celsius, a degree above normal.
The maximum temperatures in Ludhiana and Patiala settled at 34.4 and 34.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The weather department has forecast more rains in the two states during the next few days.
