Rains, thundershowers lash most parts of UP

Light to moderate rains and thundershowers occurred at a few places in Uttar Pradesh with several places in eastern part of the state witnessing heavy rains and thundershowers in the last 24 hours.

According to the MeT department, chief amount of rainfall was recorded in Jaunpur 6 cms, Katerniaghat 4 cms, Varanasi, Bareilly, Padrauna 3 cms each, Allahabad, Salempur(t), Nighasan and Aonla 2 cms each.

The MeT department predicted rains or thundershowers at most places over east UP tomorrow.

It said that South West monsoon was normal over the state.
