Former Telecom Minister and 2G scam tainted A Raja of DMK was among the 120 candidates who filed their papers today for the April 24 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu, taking the total number of nominations so far to 318.
Raja, seeking a re-election from the Nilgiris (SC) constituency, filed his papers before the Returning Officer, electoral authorities said.
Other prominent candidates who entered the poll fray in the state included BJP state unit President Pon Radhakrishnan from Kanyakumari, sitting Congress MPs B Manickam Tagore (Virudhunagar), P Viswanathan (Kancheepuram) and NSV Chitthan (Dindigul).

Former Union Minister of State and Congress leader EVKS Elangovan filed nomination for Tiruppur seat and U Vasuki of CPI (M), also the National Vice-President of All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) presented her papers from Chennai North.
The last date for filing of nominations for all 39 Lok Sabha seats in the state is April 5 and the scrutiny will be held on April 7.
The late date for withdrawal of nominations is April 9.
In the bye-election to Alandur assembly constituency to be held along with the Lok Sabha poll, an independent joined the fray, taking the total number of nominations filed so far to four.
