Mercury plummeted in Rajasthan where Churu recorded minimum temperature of 0.1 degree Celsius followed by Pilani where people shivered at 1.7 degree Celsius.
Biting cold conditions prevailed in other areas also which threw normal life out of gear.
According to a Met report, Sriganganagr recorded a night temperature of 1.9 whereas Barmer, Jaisalmer and Bikaner recorded minimum temperature of 3.1, 3.8 and 4 degree Celsius respectively.
While mercury in Ajmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Chittorgarh and Kota settled at 5.4, 5.6, 6.4, 10.2 and 12.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
