Rape accused held after 18 months hunt in J-K's Reasi

A man, wanted in connection with a rape case registered 18 months ago, was arrested Wednesday in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Mumtaz Ahmad, a resident of Balmatkot village of Mahore block, was arrested following a specific information from the Sungri area, a police official said.

He said the accused was facing charges under various sections of the Ranbir Penal Code, including 376 (rape), 341 (wrong restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
