RDT Ananthpur, Dharmamba Assn score wins in hockey tourney

RDT Ananthapur defeated Vizag steel 8-0 while Guntur won against Dharmamba Association by 3-2 on the opening day of the hockey championship played at the Port Diamond Jubilee Stadium here today.

The Ananthpur team decimated Vizag Steel with Akram and Kollayyappa scoring three goals each for the winning team, with Md Basha and Uday slotting one goal each.

In another match, Guntur defeated Dharmamba (Ananthapur )in a tough contest.

K Srinivasulu scored two goals for the winning team and K Srinivas slotted one goal. However, Dharmaba Association team fought with K Sumi Kumar and B Vijay finding the defendant's goal post at 14th and 40th minutes, respectively.
 

The match between Srikakulam and Vizianagaram ended in a draw (1-1).

RDT Ananthapur won the match against Kakinada by 3-2 goals.
