Refined soya oil prices edged up by 0.31 per cent to Rs 748.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid uptick in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in June rose by Rs 2.35, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 748.50 per 10 kg with an open interest of 21,590 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in July contracts was trading higher by Rs 1.65, or 0.22 per cent, at Rs 752.75 per 10 kg in 54,710 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders due to pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts attributed to the rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
