Refined soya oil prices went up by 0.32 per cent to Rs 734.05 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid pick-up in demand at the domestic spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in September month edged higher by Rs 2.35, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 734.05 per 10 kg with an open interest of 41,350 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in August contract was up by Rs 1.95, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 735.35 per 10 kg in 16,390 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick-up in demand at the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
