Shrimat Pandey, newly-appointed chairman of the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC), was today administered oath of office by Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Justice Pradeep Nandrajog.
Pandey has been appointed to the post for a tenure of five years.
Prithviraj, judicial member (commission), was also administered the oath of office.
Talking to media later, Pandey assured that the interests of companies as well as consumers would be kept in mind while taking any decision.
Referring to rising unrest among farmers with regard to electricity tariffs, the newly appointed RERC chairman said
agriculture tariffs have already been decided by the commission.
He, however, added that the government has been mulling relief to farmers in the form of subsidy.
