Rice basmati fell up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market owing to slackened demand from retailers against sufficient stocks.
However, wheat recovers on scattered buying from flour mills.
Traders said subdued demand from retailers against adequate stocks position kept pressure on rice basmati.

In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety fell by Rs 100 and Rs 50 to Rs 5,000-5,100 and Rs 50 to Rs 3,750-4,650 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, wheat dara (for mills) recovered by Rs 20 to Rs 1,715-1,720 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,725-1,730 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills, maida and sooji settled higher at Rs 900-910, Rs 980-990 and Rs 1,030-1,040 from previous levels of Rs 880-890, Rs 950-960 and Rs 1,000-1,005 per 50 kg, respectively.
