Air Commodore Rippon Gupta today assumed command of Air Force Station, Tambaram, here, today.
"Rippon Gupta assumed the command of Air Force Station Tambaram. Air Commodore Sreekumar Prabhakaran handed over the command in a ceremonial parade held at Air Force Station," an official release here said.
Gupta, a graduate of National Defence Academy, Pune, is a qualified flying instructor. Prior to taking up the new role, he had served as the Chief Operation Officer and Command of the Aerostat Unit, it said.
He was the Command Air Defence Officer at Headquarters, South Western Air Command and also commanded the Air Defence Direction Centre in National Capital Region, it said.
Air Commodore Sreekumar Prabhakaran is expected to join the National Defence College, New Delhi, the release added.
