As many as 467 people lost lives in road accidents in Mumbai in 2016 as of November end, a considerable decrease compared to 2015.
The city witnessed 438 road accidents last year (till November-end) which claimed 467 lives, according to the data released by traffic police.
In 2015, 611 people had died in 586 accidents.

Maximum number of deaths (109) last year took place in the accidents involving cars, followed by 104 deaths in accidents involving two-wheelers, the data said.
Accidents involving civic-run BEST and private buses claimed 20 and 11 lives, respectively.
As many as 2,305 people sustained grievous injuries in the accidents in the city in 2016.
