Road mishap claims 7 lives, probe ordered

At least seven persons have been killed and six others injured after a jeep carrying them collided with a state-run bus near a railway crossing here, police said today.

"The victims were returning from a relative's cremation last night when their vehicle hit the government bus," SP Kamlesh Dixit said.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, he said, adding that the injured have been admitted to a hospital.

District Magistrate Bhanuchandra Goswami has ordered a probe into the incident.
