A group of armed robbers allegedly killed an elderly woman before looting cash and ornaments worth Rs five lakh from a house in Pal Nagar area here in the district, police said today.
The robbers barged into the house last night and strangulated the 60-year-old Siya Dulari to death.
They also beat up other members of the family and locked them in a room, they said.
Later, they decamped with the booty, police said.
A case has been registered in this regard while the further probes are on, they added.
