Unidentified robbers looted Rs 32 lakh from one of the two automated teller machines (ATM) of a nationalised bank situated near stadium ground of Rajgarh town in Churu district in the wee hours of today, a senior police official said.

"Robbers entered the ATM counter, situated on the ground floor of the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) branch, where there was no guard and looted Rs 32 lakh after damaging one of the two machines installed there," Additional SP N Arya told PTI over telephone from Churu.

A guard was sleeping on the first floor of the main branch when the robbery occurred, Arya said, adding robbers also took away CCTV camera fitted in the ATM chamber along with them.

The robbery came to light when policemen, who were on training, noticed the burgled ATM kiosk while going to the stadium for jogging in the morning.

Bank manager has lodged an FIR with the Rajgarh police station and the bank has been asked to provide the CCTV footage of the recording, he said.

Also, check posts have been alerted and combing operation was initiated to nab the culprits, the Addl SP said.
