Robbers snatch bag containing Rs 7.74 lakh

Two unidentified motorcycle- borne men today snatched a bag containing Rs 7.74 lakh from a person working as a collection agent for a power distribution company here, a police official said.

The incident took place at Nikas Chouraha in the afternoon when the agent, Fazil Ahmed, was on his way to a local State Bank of India (SBI) branch for depositing the cash, Central Kotwali police station in-charge K K Choube said.

The motorbike-borne robbers came near him and snatched the bag containing the cash and fled, he said.

Police have launched a manhunt for the robbers, Choube said, adding further investigation was on.
