Aluminium prices edged up by 0.16 per cent to Rs 156.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid uptick in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in June edged higher by 25 paise, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 156.70 per kg in business turnover of 33 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in May traded higher by 15 paise, or 0.10 per cent to Rs 155.80 per kg in 750 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions by participants after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly influenced aluminium prices at futures trade.
