Rs 4 lakh found in abandoned car near polling booth in Raj

Cash worth Rs 4 lakh was recovered from a car which was abandoned by its occupants after they were chased by police during an inspection near a polling booth in Hanumangarh district, police said today.
The incident occurred last night on the eve of civic polls in Rajasthan, which is being held today.
A Scorpio car bearing a number plate of Punjab was abandoned by some people when the vehicle was chased by a police party near a polling booth at Bhadra town of Hanumangarh district, they said.
The money was probably meant for civic polls, police said, adding, a case under Section 102 of CrPC was lodged in this connection and the owner of the car is being traced.
