The Comptroller and Auditor report pertaining to the Puducherry government today said revenue arrears pending for collection as on March 31, 2013 under principal heads of revenue was Rs 455.49 crore.
The CAG report for the year ended March 31,2013 was placed on the table of the house today by Chief Minister N Rangasamy.
Giving details of department wise revenue arrears, the said arrears under Commercial Taxes accounted for Rs 218.77 crore, relating to collection of tax under Puducherry General Sales Tax, Central Sales Tax and Value Added Tax Acts and a major portion was covered under court cases.

Electricity is in second place with arrears of Rs 198.47 crore due to it. The report said reasons for pending arrears due to sale of power to consumers were not furnished by the Electricity Department.
As much as Rs 21.32 crore remained as arrears for the State Excise department, mainly due to non payment of kist by lessees of arrack and toddy shops.
Details of revenue arrears relating to PWD and several other departments were projected in the report.
