Russia's UN envoy says fighting around east Aleppo is over
The Syrian military has stopped its operations in Aleppo in order to allow opposition fighters and their families to leave the city, Russia's UN envoy said today.
"The bottom line is -- if everything is okay -- that means that the fighting around eastern Aleppo is over," said Ambassador Vitaly Churkin.
