'Himmatwala' is a remake of 1983 hit film starring Jeetendra and Sridevi. Sajid is remaking the film with Ajay Devgn and southern actress Tamannaaah.
"If the audience like the film, if the film does exceptionally well, if the producers put pressure for it (sequel) and if we get dates of Ajay...We would do it," Sajid told reporters here at the first trailer launch of 'Himmatwala'.
The makers unveiled the first look of the film in the iconic and oldest single screen theatre Gaiety Galaxy in suburban Bandra.
The remake version is also set in the 80s and will see Ajay reprising the role of Jeetendra while Tamannaaah will step in the role of Sridevi.
"It is not a remake exactly. We have bought the rights of two songs - 'Taaki o taaki' and 'Tathaiya Tathaiya'. The film is based in 1980s. The film will show Ajay Devgn like never before," Sajid said.
