To strengthen its presence among the youth, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has started a "Join RSS" initiative on its website and nearly 10,000 people are joining the organisation every month through the programme.

The Sangh has also decided to designate its workers in urban areas as "apartment pramukhs", who will be in charge of organising shakhas in their specific societies.

Now anyone can join the Sangh by going to its website and clicking on the "Join RSS" tab on it, a senior RSS functionary said, adding that around 10,000 youngsters are joining the organisation every month through this initiative.

Talking about shakhas, he said their aim is to reach out to maximum people and organise it at the smallest level of localities in cities and villages.

Shakhas, the Sangh fountainhead's smallest units and the backbone of the organisation, help bring about a change in the society by engaging more people in social work, he said.

Shakhas are already being organised and will be organised in high-rises and for that "we will appoint apartment pramukhs", he added.

Besides this, the RSS is also reaching out to the youth through social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

Sangh has now more than 5.4 million followers on Facebook and any query or message on this platform is replied within a day.

The Sangh also has a verified Twitter account.

On these social media platforms, the Sangh updates about the events organised by it and the literature related to the organisation.
