Lawyers from Seemandhra region of Andhra Pradesh today held a demonstration here to protest bifurcation of the state and said they will continue their agitation till a statement comes from the Centre in favour.
About 800 lawyers from 13 Seemandhra districts held a sit-in at Jantar Mantar to mount pressure on the Centre to concede to their demand for a united Andhra Pradesh, Seemandhra Lawyer Joint Action Committee (JAC) Co-convener Muppalla Subba Rao said.
"We will continue our stir till the statement will come from the Centre in favour of united Andhra Pradesh," he said.
He said lawyers from Seemandhra region will abstain courts till October 26 and will held a meeting in Visakhapatnam on that day to discuss future course of action.
