Congress MLA Ashwani Sekhri suffered a setback when his brother Inderjit Sekhri today announced to fight the forthcoming Assembly elections from Sucha Singh Chhotepur-led Aapna Punjab Party.
Chhotepur announced that Inderjit, who has joined the party, will be the APP's candidate from the Batala assembly seat.
He will be engaged in a four cornered contest with his brother Ashwani, the state AAP convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich and SAD leader Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal.

"During the last 10 year rule of the SAD-BJP government in the state, many of our Congress workers faced different types of atrocities. Fake cases were registered against them. We are victimized but our leader, Ashwani is supporting the BJP leader in the running of council administration," rued Inderjit.
Earlier, Inderjit Singh Randhawa had announced to fight elections against his Congress MLA-brother Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa from Dera Baba Nanak.
