Select base metals rise on fresh demand

Select copper, zinc and lead prices rose at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amidst fresh demand from industrial users.
At the London Metal Exchange (LME) in early trade, nickel hovered close to 15-month highs as worries about supply from Indonesia and Russia fuelled momentum that has found further heat from investor and consumer buying.
Copper sheet cutting climbed by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 478 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 474.

Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and lead moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 493, Rs 521 and Rs 151 from Rs 491, Rs 519 and Rs 149.
Copper scrap heavy and zinc inched-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 487 and Rs 174, respectively.
However, copper utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 461 and Rs 360.
