Senior leader of the Communist Party of India (CPI) Bharat Prakash passed away at his native town Khanna in the district today.
He was 95.
He was associated with the World Peace Council and All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) and participated in many national and international events for peace and disarmament, his family said.

During the British period, he he took part in the freedom of the country and post-independence, he joined the CPI and remained a member of the National Council of the party, they said.
Besides, he waged many struggles for the rights of the peasants and agriculture labours.
Several leaders of the CPI were present at the funeral.
