Senior IAS officer to oversee relief distribution in Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir government has deployed senior IAS officer Shailendra Kumar as Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) to oversee relief distribution in central Kashmir.

"To oversee and monitor the rescue, relief and rehabilitation in flood affected areas, the government today deployed Commissioner and Secretary of the Tourism and Culture Department Shailendra Kumar as Special Relief Commissioner, Central Kashmir," an official spokesman said.

This has been done in view of the reports of chaos over relief distribution in Srinagar.
