Shachihata enters Indian stationery market

Japan-headquartered pre-ink stamp pad manufacturer Shachihata Inc today forayed into the Indian stationery market with the appointment of Artline India as its subsidiary.

Noting that India's stationery industry was growing at more than 10 per cent year-on-year, Shachihata Company Ltd Director Yasuji Mori said: "India is a critical market. We are committed to grow in India with a target to capture 15 per cent market share in next three years".

"We are planning India to be the new hub for exports within Shachihata Group. In this growth journey South India will play a critical role with our manufacturing factory located in Chennai", he said in a statement.
 

Japanese-headquartered Shachihata Company Ltd established in 1925, has been manufacturing stamp pads, markets and other stationery products. The company has presence in USA, UK, Malaysia, China.

Initially, Artline India plans to have five exclusive outlets in the country and more than 200 distributors within the first year of operations.

"We are coming up with a range of writing, scholastic and colouring products in next three to four months," Mori said.
