Shipping minister lays foundation stone for various projects

Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday laid the foundation stone for various projects including a 140 kw rooftop solar power plant and widening of the harbour entrance at the port here.

He also inaugurated the coal jetty-I, North Cargo Berth-III, railway line from the marshalling yard to Hare Island, among others, at the port locations.

The total cost estimated for the projects will be around Rs.139 crore, according to a release.

Tuticorin Port chairman D.K Ramachandran and other officials participated in the function.
