Kashmiri Pandits today said that the Shrine Bill for the protection, preservation and management of the temples and shrines in the Valley is the consensus demand of "exiled" Kashmiris.
This demand was raised by the of leaders, intellectuals and activists of the community at the convention held at the K P Sabha at Ambphalla in the city today.
The convention endorsed the work done by the Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) and pledged full support to it to carry forward the struggle till the shrine bill is passed and a democratic shrine board is elected and takes over the management of the temples and shrines of Kashmir.

He said unlike the half a dozen bills passed by the state legislature putting various temples in Jammu division under the nominated boards, the Shrine bill was the only bill that did not give the management of the temples to the government.
The trust had met most of the cabinet ministers and political leaders, including chief minister Omar Abdullah, Mufti Muhammad Sayyid, Mahbooba Mufti, Prof Bhim Singh, and others asking their support for the passage of the shrine bill, he said.
"All of them had promised their support", he added.
