Silver futures up by 0.3% on firm global cues

Tracking a firm trend overseas, silver prices surged by Rs 112% to Rs 39,122 per kg in futures trading today as traders built up fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July rose by Rs 112 or 0.29% to Rs 39,122 per kg in a business turnover of 203 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month September was trading higher by Rs 107 or 0.27% to Rs 39,823 per kg in 2 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by participants in line with a firm trend in global markets, mainly influenced silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0.46% to $16.41 an ounce in Singapore.
