Silver down 0.2% on overseas cues

Metal for delivery in December lost Rs 38, or 0.11%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver fell by Rs 75 to Rs 34,719 per kg in futures market today amid a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September shed Rs 75, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 34,719 per kg in a business turnover of 809 lots.

Also, the white metal for delivery in December lost Rs 38, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 35,503 per kg in 34 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators tracking a weak trend in global markets as investors await release of Federal Reserve minutes which may give further clues on the timing of an interest rate increase, boosted the case for a rise.

Globally, silver fell 2.94 per cent to USD 14.87 an ounce in Singapore.
