Silver rebounds, gold eases

On the other hand, gold witnessed a lacklustre trade and eased due to lack of buying interest from stockists and investors at the existing levels.

Silver ready (.999 fineness) surged by Rs 280 per kg to end at Rs 54,420 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 54,140.

Standard gold (99.5 purity) moved down by Rs 10 to finish at Rs 29,060 per 10 gm from Rs 29,070.

Pure gold (99.9 purity) also softened by Rs 5 to conclude at Rs 29,195 per 10 gms compared to Rs 29,200 yesterday.

In Europe, gold rose after falling for three days amidst marginal rise in euro. Spot gold was bid higher at USD 1,566.06 an ounce in early trade and silver was bid up at USD 28.02 an ounce.
