Simon Cowell to launch show in Afghanistan

Media mogul Simon Cowell is reportedly launching a new show titled 'Afghanistan's Got Talent'.

Afghan stars are being sought for the judging panel along with a celebrity host. Auditions will take place in the coming months, with the show launching in autumn.

"Simon has always believed Got Talent can work anywhere, because - no matter where you are - people have amazing talents. There may be a war raging in Afghanistan - but people are still living their lives and they enjoy watching TV just like anyone else," a source said.

The show would be for all-comers and could include forces on the front line.
 

"Rules are being drawn up but there is a possibility troops will be allowed to enter - assuming they can get permission," the source added.

Afghanistan would be the 58th country to take the hit show - with others including Brazil, Ukraine, South Korea and Kazakhstan already signed up.
