Ashes of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal were immersed in river Ganga in Haridwar today.
VHP, RSS and BJP leaders paid tributes to the the leader and immersed his ashes in the river, leader of opposition in Uttarakhand Assembly, said.
Singhal's remains were taken to Har Ki Pauri in form of a possession where Dinesh Ji, General Secretary of VHP, and Rajendra Pankaj, National Secretary of VHP, performed the rituals, he said.
Singhal, who rose to prominence playing a leading role in the Ram Janambhoomi movement in the late eighties and after, died on November 17 at a private hospital in Gurgaon.
