He was 88.
Born on June 1924, Ram was closely associated with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in the national capital for last 30 years.
"He was an upright, honest and a man of conviction with full of compassion," a statement from the hospital said.
Ram was the grandson of great philanthropist late Sir Ganga Ram.
Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was established in 1921 at Lahore (Pakistan) and later in 1954 at New Delhi.
"As a mark of respect for this noble soul, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital will remain closed on September 4, except for emergency services," the statement said.
