Six people were killed and 20 others injured in an accident in a coal mine in southwest China's Guizhou Province, local authorities said today.
The accident, which occurred yesterday at Kongjiagou Coal Mine in Weining County, was caused by a gas fire, the state- run Xinhua news agency reported.
More than 500 people were involved in the rescue operation.
The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment, the report said.
