Inspector General of Police Sushil Khopde said that among the dead was officer in-charge of Tandwa police station Ajay Kumar.

The police party, on patrol duty, was returning to Tandwa police station from Nabinagar when the blast took place near Uttri kol nahar.

It is feared that the casualty figure might go up, Khopde said.
