Six siblings charred to death

The incident took place late last night at a small settlement close to Mirik, 49 km from here, when the hut caught fire from a lantern.

The children, aged between two and 12 years, were alone in the house when the incident took place.

Officials said rescue team could not reach the place on time due to its remoteness.
