SL navy arrests five persons for trying to smuggle opium

Five persons were arrested at Kalpetti in Sri Lanka today by navy personnel of the island nation on charges of trying to smuggle opium (RPT) opium from Tamil Nadu, police said here.

According to 'Q' branch police inspector Kennedy the five were arrested while trying to smuggle about three (RPT) three kgs of opium (RPT) opium from Tamil Nadu to Sri Lanka in a country boat.
