Slight intensity quake hits Nicobar Islands

A slight intensity earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted the Nicobar Islands area.

According to Indian Meteorological Department, the quake hit around 00.06 hours on the intervening night of October 14 and 15, at the focal depth of 10 km.

No report of loss of life or damage to property has been received so far.
