Small sugar falls on reduced demand

Small sugar prices fell at the Vashi wholesale market here today on reduced demand from stockist as well as poor upcountry demand amidst miller selling.

Medium sugar ended mixed on alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar (S-30) dropped by Rs 15 per quintal to Rs 2,902/3,075 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 2,902/3,090.

However, Medium sugar was quoted at Rs 3,051/3,256.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,902/3,075 (Rs 2,902/3,090).

Medium sugar(M-30) quality: Rs 3,051/3,256 (Rs 3,066/3,252).
