Small sugar hardens on consistent demand

Small sugar prices hardened at the Vashi wholesale market here today on consistent demand from stockists and bulk consumers in midst of continued seasonal offtake.

Medium sugar witnessed mixed pattern of trading owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar (S-30) climbed by Rs 18 to Rs 2,950/3,035 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,932/3,035.

While, medium sugar (M-30) was quoted at Rs 3,022/ 3,162.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,950/3,035 (Rs 2,932/3,035).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,022/3,162 (Rs 3,036/3,152).
