Rajasthan government today clarified that social security pension to the Jandhan bank accounts is not being stopped as alleged by the Congress.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Arun Chaturvedi said the pension to the accounts opened under Jan Dhan scheme which has deposits of Rs 50,000 will not be stopped.
"The government is not stopping pension and the Congress is misleading public on the issue. 59 lakh people are getting social pension in present whereas the number of beneficiaries of social pension was 44 lakh during the Congress rule," he said in a statement here.
Congress had held a demonstration in front of the social justice and empowerment office yesterday accusing the state government of stopping pension of elderly, widows and handicapped.
