Soldier killed in Pak blast

A Pakistani soldier was killed and two more were injured in a bomb attack in the country's restive North Waziristan tribal region today.

The soldier died when an improvised explosive device went off early this morning, a military statement said.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

US officials often describe lawless North Waziristan tribal region as a safe haven for Taliban and Al Qaeda elements.
