Soybean futures ease on low demand

Soybean prices fell by Rs 22.5 to Rs 3,850 per quintal at futures trade on Monday amid sluggish demand as investors were off-loading their holdings.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean delivery for October slipped by Rs 22.5, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 3,850 per quintal with a business turnover of 1,160 lots.

For November delivery, the contract fell by Rs 5.5, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 3,898 per quintal with an open interest of 76,670 lots.

According to traders, the prices of soybean fell at futures trade due to tepid demand and sell-off by participants.
