Soybean futures recover on short-covering

Soybean prices regained by Rs 28 to Rs 3,713 per quintal in the futures trade today on short-covering of bets by the traders and good overseas trends.

Market players said, speculators were creating fresh positions at the prevailing levels motivated by upbeat overseas trend, marking an uptick in the soybean futures prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean delivery for May revived by Rs 28 or 0.76 per cent to Rs 3,713 per quintal, open interest stood of 9,210 lots.

The delivery of the most traded June also improved by Rs 25 or 0.67 per cent to Rs 3,743 per quintal, depicting an open interest of 1,61,910 lots.
