Special Gram Sabha meetings would be convened in Himachal Pradesh to identify beneficiaries of the Food Security scheme, state food minister G S Bali said here today.
"Depot holders are instructed to display guidelines, of the scheme, so that everybody is benefited," he said.
Divisional Commissioners are empowered to deal with irregularities and a state level committee to monitor the scheme was being constituted, the minister said.
"There was some confusion over supply and direct subsidy distribution of LPG in the state and its linkages with Aadhaar Cards, but we would be meeting the petroleum minister next month on it," Bali said.
"1 lakh 20 thousand quintals of levy sugar is in the government's stock as against the demand of 1 lakh 40 thousand quintals, but majority of depot holders are not depositing the money to lift their quota of sugar and creating artificial shortage in the market," the minister said adding, directions have been issued to fine such depot holders.
