Speeding truck kills two in UP

Two persons were today killed after being hit by a speeding truck near Ambari police outpost in Falpur area here, police said.

The truck, which was carrying cattle, hit one Mala Devi (42) and while trying to flee, hit a stationary truck killing an unidentified person who was inside, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Mohd Imran said.

Police suspect that the truck was being used for cattle smuggling.

The accused driver fled from the spot, the SP said, adding, the truck has been seized.

A probe is underway and efforts are on to identify the other victim, the SP added.
