Spl postage stamp on Mahatma Gandhi to be released on Oct 12

: A special postage stamp on Mahatma Gandhi will be released by India Post on October 12, commemorating the National Postal Week celebrations.

The Post Master General, Chennai region, Shanthi Nair, said World Post Day is celebrated by postal administrations across the globe on October nine.

This year, the commemorative postage stamp on Gandhi would be available for sale through philatelic bureaux across the country, a PIB release said.

In Chennai, the stamp would be available at the Anna Road Head Post Office and in Puducherry HPO on that day, it said.

From Oct 12 to 31, a philatelic exhibition on the history of postal services, railways, will be on display at Philatelic Exhibition Hall, Anna Road Head Post Office, Chennai, the release added.
